Khunjerab National Park
Occupying 2,271 square Kms from the Khunjerab Pass to Shimshal, the Khunjerab National Park begins 30 Kms from Sost. Established in 1975 in an attempt to preserve the Marco Polo sheep from extinction and to preserve other wildlife in the area: snow leopard, ibex, Tibetan wild ass, bharal, wolf, red fox, brown bear, cape hare, and alpine weasel.
